Jonah is a truly amazing book about a God, Who is more merciful and gracious than his prophet. Jonah is divided into two distinct parts: Chapters 1-2 detail Jonah rebelling against God and running away. Chapters 3-4 detail Jonah going on mission to Nineveh and still misunderstanding God’s grace for sinners. This mirrors what we see in the Parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15 (A son rebells and runs away from the Father… the Elder son self-righteously condemning the Father’s grace for a sinner). God’s gracious gospel for sinners is present throughout the book in amazing ways!
